Making the Most of the Location Superiority, Servicing “The Belt and Road”, Constructing a New Cooperative Transportation Education System for South Asia and Southeast Asia
Yunnan Communications Vocational and Technical College is located in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan province, southwest of China, and linked with ASEAN countries like Vietnam, Burma and Laos. It is the first in Yunnan Province listed on the 100 national model vocational colleges constructed by the central government of China, The first batch of high-level vocational colleges and the high-quality vocational colleges in Yunnan. And the college is listed on the top 50 national outstanding contribution vocational colleges as well. In 2018 and 2019, the college won the honor of "top 50 in international influence", "top 50 in Asia Pacific influence" and "the first batch of 20" flagship project of China-ASEAN top 100 vocational schools "of higher vocational colleges nationwide.
The collegehas formed the school-running model of “industry-oriented education, education-oriented enterprise, industry and education combined to culture talents”. Besides, the college insists on basing on transportation, servicing society, focusing on the future, and integrating and serving “the Belt and Road” strategy with the purpose of constructing Yunnan as the center among Southeast Asia and South Asia countries in the field of economics, transportation, marketing and so on. Now the college is advancing steadily forward to be the first-class vocational colleges domestically, renowned internationally with distinctive characteristics in the future, providing the talents and technical support of transportation construction for countries along “the Belt and Road”.
In order to integrate and service “the Belt and Road” and the new orientation of construction and development in Yunnan, the college is going to make the best of cultivating the high-quality skilled talents in the field of transportation, and define the new orientation of international cooperation and exchanges of the college as“constructing the college as the base of high skilled talents cultivation, and the service center ofhigh-quality technical personnel training among South Asia and Southeast Asia countries, skills appraisal and new transportation technology promotion”.
